Prevention Services
Prevention provides services, programs and events that encourage and promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles for the residents of Berkeley County and surrounding areas. Services and programs are conducted incorporating the following 6 CSAP strategies:
Information Dissemination– conducting presentations and distributing alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention information via brochures, pamphlets, flyers and social media
Problem identification and referral– identifying and referring underage or illegal use of alcohol, tobacco or illicit drugs to appropriate services.
Education– providing educational workshops and multi-session programs relating to alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention for youth, adults, schools and communities.
Alternatives–providing drug-free community activities.
Community Based Process–working with Berkeley County partners to deliver programs and services for substance use prevention.
Environmental– enhancing programs in communities that support laws and community norms promoting low-risk and no-use of substances.
